II. Use of Cookies

The Administrator uses two types of Cookies:
  • Session Cookies – stored on the Device until leaving the page or closing the browser.
  • Persistent Cookies – stored on the Device until manually deleted by the User or until their expiry date.
By source of origin:
  • First-party Cookies – files generated by the Administrator's website.

By function:
  • Technical/Essential Cookies – ensuring proper website operation, content display, User session management, and security.
  • Functional Cookies – used for remembering User settings, such as language preferences (Polish/English) and display theme (light/dark).
  • Analytical Cookies – used for measuring website traffic statistics and analysing how the Platform is used (if implemented).

III. Cookies and Locally Stored Data on the Platform

The doEstimate Platform uses both cookies and the browser's localStorage mechanism. localStorage is a technology for storing data locally on the User's Device, similar to cookies, but localStorage data is not automatically sent to the server with each HTTP request. In accordance with the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC), both cookies and localStorage are subject to the same rules regarding the storage of information on the User's Device.

Data stored via localStorage (not transmitted to the server):
  • doestimate-theme – stores the User's display theme preference (light/dark); saved exclusively in the browser's localStorage; not transmitted to the server; no expiry date (until manually deleted by the User).
  • doestimate-locale – stores the User's language preference (pl/en); saved exclusively in the browser's localStorage; not transmitted to the server; no expiry date (until manually deleted by the User).
Cookies:
  • Session cookies – used to maintain the User's session while using the Platform; transmitted to the server with each request; automatically deleted when the browser is closed.
  • Consent cookies (CookieYes) – store the User's cookie consent preferences; necessary for the operation of the consent management mechanism.

IV. Cookie Consent

  1. 1Technical and essential cookies are used without User consent, as they are necessary for the proper functioning of the Platform (Art. 173(3) of the Telecommunications Law Act).
  2. 2Functional and analytical cookies are used on the basis of User consent, expressed through browser settings or the Platform's consent mechanism.
  3. 3The User may withdraw consent to the use of cookies at any time by changing their browser settings.

V. Cookie Management

The User may change Cookie settings at any time in their browser settings. Restricting the use of cookies may affect Platform functionality (e.g., loss of saved language or theme preferences). Detailed information is available on browser manufacturers' websites:

  • Google Chrome – support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
  • Mozilla Firefox – support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cookies
  • Microsoft Edge – support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge
  • Safari – support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-sfri11471

VI. Changes to the Cookie Policy

The Administrator reserves the right to amend this Cookie Policy. The updated version will be published on the Platform together with the effective date of the changes.

This Cookie Policy is effective from 22.02.2026.
